Duke Fan Tony Romo Owes Jahlil Okafor a Super Bowl Victory, Apparently

Tony Romo is a big Duke fan and no stranger to Cameron Indoor Stadium. Last March he posed for a photo with then-recruit Jahlik Okafor. According to the caption on Instagram, the pair made a deal that they will win championships for one another. Okafor lived up this his end Monday night, as Duke defeated Wisconsin in Indianapolis.

Now it’s up to Romo to lift the Lombardi Trophy … which figures to be a mere formality, given the Cowboys track record in the playoffs recently. (I kid, sorry, I like Romo FWIW.)

It also appears Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is a Blue Devils fan, too, as the pair were spotted at the South Regional Final last week in Houston. Jason Witten doesn’t appear to be sporting team colors for anyone — if you look closely.

And thanks to the Getty Image archives, here’s a shot from last March featuring Romo, Garrett, Okafor and Coach K, which would probably be the day the “deal” was struck.
