The Florida Gators beat visiting Stetson on Tuesday night, 22-2. Before the game the people of Gainesville, Florida heard a conspiracy wherein collegiate athletes are not compensated for the work they do playing sports for their schools. When Gators’ catcher JJ Schwarz heard about this, he had to think quickly to keep the home fans calm. So he asked if they wanted to know the terrifying truth, or if preferred to see him sock a few dingers. The crowd chanted “dingers,” so Schwarz went out and hit four home runs. After the game, Schwarz played it off like he didn’t mean to sock so many dingers. Via The Alligator:

"“I’ve never hit two (home runs in a game) before,” Schwarz said. “After my second one, I was really excited and after the third one I was like ‘holy crap. What’s going on?’"

Sure, JJ. Whatever you say. Obviously sick of watching the freshman show off, his teammates completely ignored him as he returned to the dugout following homer number four. The freshman finished 5-for-6 and drove in 10 runs.
