"Step forward, Jordan Morris. His first international goal gives #USMNT the lead over Mexico. #USAvMEX http://t.co/JlvEvACAe3 — FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) April 16, 2015 "

Jordan Morris made history during the U.S./Mexico game in San Antonio. Morris, a college sophomore at Stanford, scored his first international goal shortly after the halftime break. Morris is the first college player to suit up for the USMNT since 1995. He ought to be sure to thank Michael Bradley after the match.

The goal by Morris was a lone highlight in a match otherwise rendered borderline pointless thanks to the awful temporary turf installed at the Alamodome.

Morris’ inclusion is part of Jurgen Klinsmann’s open-minded approach to building the National Team roster, which also includes NASL player Miguel Ibarra.
