Russell Westbrook scored 37 points in the Thunder’s regular season finale against Minnesota, but the team’s 138-113 victory meant nothing because the Pelicans beat the Spurs, eliminating the Thunder from the playoffs.

Westbrook finished the 2014-2015 as the NBA’s leading scorer, averaging 28.1 ppg during the best season of his young career. The 26-year old point guard finished with career-high averages in rebounds (7.3), assists (8.6) and steals (2.1). He’ll finish in the Top 5 in the MVP vote (but Stephen Curry will win).

But with the Thunder missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 2009, you can understand why Westbrook valued the scoring title as “shit.”
