Anthony Kim has surfaced! The former golf star, who hasn’t been seen or heard from in quite a while, was spotted out at OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas with poker players Rick Salomon and Jean-Robert Bellande. Once considered one of the best young golfers on tour, Kim suffered several injuries involving his hand, wrist, and achilles and sort of disappeared. He hasn’t played on the PGA Tour since the 2012 Wells Fargo.

If you’re interested in why Anthony Kim may never be seen on Tour again, Alan Shipnuck wrote a great piece for SI detailing the settlement that Kim was set to receive if he suffered a career-ending injury.

"The answer very well may lie in an insurance policy Kim has against a career-ending injury. An IMG source pegged its value at $10 million, tax-free. Kim’s friend, who has had financial discussions with him, says, “It’s significantly north of that. Not quite 20, but close. That is weighing on him, very much so. He’s trying to weigh the risk of coming back. The way he’s phrased it to me is, ‘If I take one swing on Tour, the policy is voided.'”"

It’s interesting to think that a young man who could possibly recover from his injuries and return to golf would give up the sport completely, but $10 million tax-free dollars is pretty tough to beat.
