Here’s a new one: One ESPN reporter who covers Cleveland claims that the Browns have offered picks 12 and 19 to Tennessee with the intent to move up and draft Marcus Mariota, the Oregon QB.

Ninety minutes later … another ESPN reporter who covers Tennessee claims that no such offer exists.

There has been radio silence from other NFL reporters – namely Glazer, Schefter, Rapoport – so read into that what you will.

My stance for months has been that the Titans aren’t drafting Marcus Mariota, and I don’t believe anyone is going to put together an RGIII-like package to get him. I have also advocated the Jets can have him at six, and I would consider giving up #6 and their 2016 1st round pick (which would be in the 20s) for Mariota, but that’s it.

Anyway, we’re about 22 hours from the draft, so let the rumors continue.

I just hope we’re done with sordid off-the-field stuff from athletes, because between Shane Ray, Randy Gregory and La’El Collins … yikes.
