Dan Le Batard Calls Rockets Execs Cowards, Hires Social Media Guy to Tweet for Him [AUDIO]

Dan Le Batard had Chad Shanks, the social media guy who was fired by the Rockets earlier this week for tweeting emojis of a horse getting shot, on his radio show on Thursday. After going through a list of the Houston front office and trying to figure out, name by name, the identity of the executive who gave Shanks the axe, and being diplomatically rebuffed, Le Batard offered him a temp job tweeting for him.
After a couple minutes of negotiations, in which Le Batard’s co-host Stugotz tried to lowball Shanks with a $50 offer, it was mutually agreed upon that Shanks would earn $500 to tweet from Dan’s account from then until the end of MayPac. During the next segment, Le Batard, who had grilled Rockets general manager Daryl Morey about the firing the day before, clarified that the money would come out of his own pocket.
Here’s some of the work Shanks has done so far:
.@LAClippers good thing there's no spur emoji that you could be tempted to fake shoot.

Would love to see Gregg Popovich create a Twitter account, get it verified, then never Tweet a thing. Just to prove a point.

Also, probably won't provide much Kentucky Derby coverage Saturday...

This was a savvy PR move for Le Batard, who will more than recoup his $500 cost in ever-essential blogosphere cred.
