Remember last year after the Cowboys drafted Zach Martin in the 1st round, and everyone said wacky Dallas GM/owner Jerry Jones was finally doing things the right way?

Well, that’s out the window.

In March, the Cowboys signed Greg Hardy, the former Carolina pass-rusher who was arrested and missed all but one game of the 2014 season due to a domestic violence case. Hardy will be suspended for the first 10 games of the 2015 season.

With the 60th pick in the the draft, the Cowboys took Randy Gregory, the talented-but-troubled defensive end from Nebraska. He famously flunked a marijuana test at the NFL Combine, and later admitted to having issues with the drug. Earlier this week, some ugly stuff emerged about his “mental makeup.”

According to ESPN, the Cowboys will have a security detail “shadow” Gregory, because apparently, he needs a support system to succeed.

Nobody denies the on-field talent of either of these gentlemen, but without question, both are extremely high risk moves by the Cowboys.
