Greg Hardy’s career with the Dallas Cowboys is off to an interesting start. The former Panther faces a 10-game suspension stemming from a domestic violence case. Late last month he got into a verbal altercation with a teammate. Friday night during the NFL Draft Hardy made a joke about 9/11 on Twitter after the Panthers drafted 6-foot-5 Michigan receiver Devin Funchess.

Hardy later deleted the tweet and offered up an apology later on:

This became enough of a story that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones commented on it:

"“We will address that and we’ll just leave it at that,” Jones said. “We all know that we’re living in a time now that you don’t allude or use examples that socially … are just out of step or bad taste. Those are some of the kinds of things it’s good to be able to have a good line of communication with players and address and work on.”"

Stephen Jones also commented, via the Star-Telegraph:

"“These guys are young,” Stephen Jones said. “I’ve got young people in college and getting out of college and they’re into social media. I warn them everyday that it’s probably not the best thing they’re doing, spending a lot of time on social media. “They’ve got to understand the pitfalls that come with it and once you put something out there, you better own it and better be able to live with it.”"

The moral of the story, as always: never tweet.
