At some point during the first half of Grizzlies-Warriors on Sunday, it became apparent that it was just going to be one of those games where Golden State hits everything. While the spectacle of that is tremendous, you also run out of ways to talk about it. Consequently, Mike Breen brought up how Gregg Popovich and his Spurs were classy in defeat after they lost to the Clippers on Saturday. Then Mark Jackson weighed in.

“I thought it was great,” Jackson said. “They carried themselves like true professionals. I don’t know if Pop heard, but thank God for job security — losing Game 7 on the road to the Clippers can cost you your job.”

Popovich does have the luxury of having won five championships as a head coach, and not having the ignominy of an inability to “get along with anybody else in the organization.”

From a basketball standpoint in the regular season and these playoffs, it certainly does not appear as though Jackson was indispensable.
