LeBron James Was Asked to Throw Kyrie Irving Under the Bus While Sitting Next to Kyrie Irving

Back in November, LeBron James lectured Kyrie Irving after the guard posted zero assists in a loss to Utah.

The moment reportedly helped the two superstars get on the same page.

"“He came up to me and was like, ‘One, you can never have another game with no assists,’ ” Irving said, describing James’ words. ” ‘You can damn near have just one, two, three, but you can’t have zero.’ And I was like, ‘All right, cool, it won’t happen again.’ And it hasn’t happened since that game.”"

And it didn’t happen again. Until last night.

Irving, battling a foot injury, put up 11 points without a single helper as Derrick Rose’s heroics gave the Bulls a 2-1 series lead.

ESPN’s Mark Schwarz noticed the glaring goose egg and asked James for comment — with Irving sitting just a few feet away.

James crafted a very diplomatic answer. Irving was understandably miffed, yet silent.

Awkward.
