For the “Washington Sports are Cursed” crowd, add this one to the ledger: After trailing for most of the game, the Wizards rallied in the 4th quarter to briefly take a lead against the Hawks, hoping to extend the series to a Game 7.

Then Washington fumbled down the stretch, but the Hawks refused to put the game away, and Atlanta was sitting on a 94-91 lead with six seconds left. And then … that happened. Overtime! Nope, didn’t get it off in time.

Hawks 94, Wizards 91.

What an excruciating way to lose a playoff series.

The Hawks advance to play the Cavs for a trip to the NBA Finals. Game 1 is Wednesday in Atlanta.
