After defeating Roger Federer today 6-4/6-3 in the finals of the Italian Open, Novak Djokovic remains undefeated on clay this year — and will enter next week’s French Open as the top overall seed and perennial favorite to hoist the La Coupe des Mousquetaires. Djokovic has won his last 22 matches and 19 of the last 41 “Masters” events.

While the tournament was a giant success for Novak, the champagne celebration was not. Watch as Djokovic nails himself in the face with a champagne cork, after the match, and nearly takes out his own eye…

Don’t worry, Novak fans, he’s ok — and even shared the special moment with the camera crew.

What a nice guy.
