Keith Olbermann Says Roger Goodell Should Recuse Himself from the Ballghazi Circus
A dapper-looking Keith Olbermann did his thing with Deflategate. While public interest on the topic seems to have dwindled a bit, it remains super silly (and hilarious if you’re thinking about it from the right frame of mind). This wasn’t a case of Patriots trutherdom or anything — Olbermann was clear that Brady and Kraft have looked absurd, and have wielded transparently circuitous logic — but an argument that Goodell is “making them look like victims,” and is the walking illustration of conflict of interest.
Not to make everything about Bill Simmons, but it bears mentioning that Olbermann, who already called for Roger Goodell’s resignation last summer, tarred and feathered the Commissioner, and so did Dan Le Batard earlier this week in a column that surgically impugned his (and his sport’s) integrity. The biggest difference between these commentaries and the ones that got Simmons in trouble with Bristol is the perception, or lack thereof, of tasteful word choice.
