Adrian Peterson has put his hands up and said ‘no mas!’ The star running back of the Minnesota Vikings, who has threatened a lengthy holdout and demanded a trade in the wake of last year’s suspension after he was indicted on child abuse charges, has suddenly changed his tune, and he says he’ll report to the team today. He told longtime friend Josina Anderson:

"“I decided to come back just to get around my teammates and the coaching staff. There’s never been any love lost with those guys. Basically it’s time for me to come in and test the waters and re-familiarize myself with our offense and the direction they’re trying to go in.”"

Last week, when Peterson threw a temper tantrum trying to get his way – the latest in a long line of GET ME OUT OF HERE pleas; Peterson desperately wanted to be traded to Dallas or Arizona, but neither would part with a 1st round pick during the NFL draft – but the Vikings called his bluff, saying he’d either play for Minnesota or retire.

Peterson just turned 30 in March, usually a year when running backs hit a wall, and their careers go south. That probably won’t be the case here, given the fact Peterson only played in one game last year, and only had 279 carries in 2013.

He was the NFL MVP in 2012, rushing for 2,097 yards and averaging 6.0 yards per carry.

The Vikings are expected to contend for a playoff spot in the NFC this Fall.
