Kyrie Irving Blocked Stephen Curry Layup, Game 1 Goes to Overtime
By Jason McIntyre
Guess Kyrie Irving’s knee is OK? Cleveland’s point guard helped force overtime with this ridiculous block of what looked like an automatic Stephen Curry layup in the final :25 of the 4th quarter of Game One of the NBA Finals.
Irving has played an outstanding game at both ends (four steals, two blocks, 23 points), and the game is tied at 98 headed into overtime.
LeBron had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but his step-back jumper missed, and Iman Shumpert’s catch-and-shoot in the air barely missed at the buzzer.
LeBron shot 17-of-35 and scored 42 points in regulation.
