Serena Williams won her 20th Grand Slam title Saturday, defeating Lucie Safarova in 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-2 at the French Open. Williams had a chance to win in the second set, but found herself down in the third set but rallied to win.

As viewers watching on NBC probably heard (or saw), at this point in the match Williams began yelling loudly at herself to fire herself up during the fifth game. Mary Carillo took a second to apologize for the “f-bombs.”

Whatever an athlete says to herself during the heat of the moment really shouldn’t be a big deal and again it worked for Williams on Saturday in Paris, even if she did pick up a code violation for audible obscenity.

For Williams its her third win at Roland Garros. She now trails Steffi Graf by two for the most Grand Slams of all time.
