Pat Venditte made his major league debut over the weekend with the Oakland Athletics. Striking out one and surrendering a single hit in two innings, 29-year old Venditte’s debut was only notable because he’s a switch pitcher. Venditte pitched with both hands during his debut. The East Oregonian picked up the AP story about Venditte’s debut, but got a little confused while laying out the story, calling Venditte “amphibious.” To be fair, we don’t know for certain he isn’t. It makes as much sense as pitching with both arms. [via SI]
