These thrilling, crazy NBA Finals have been excellent for everyone outside of the Golden State Warriors – the legacy of LeBron James, the legend of Matthew Dellavedova, ABC/ESPN and of course, basketball fans. Why don’t the Warriors look like the offensive juggernaut they did in the regular season? What the hell has happened to Draymond Green? Who’s going to get injured next for Cleveland?

The storylines are plenty, and as a result, the TV ratings have been absurd: Game 3 generated a 13.4 overnight rating, easily besting the first two games. The Cavs and Warriors continue to set ABC ratings records, and if the Warriors can win Thursday and extend the series to six or seven games … we may be looking at an NFL playoff game number.

Despite only having the 6th and 17th best TV markets in the country, NBA Finals ratings are close to doubling up the 2014 World Series ratings (6th and 31st best TV markets). Game three between the Giants and Royals pulled in a 7.2 rating.
