Dwyane Wade's Postgame Interview of LeBron James Was Great

LeBron James appeared on SportsCenter following the Cavaliers Game 3 win over the Warriors. LeBron sat at the desk with John Anderson and Dwyane Wade. It was a pretty great conversation between two great players and friends. While LeBron is killing it on the court, Wade is doing a valiant job as an analyst.

You can see LeBron liven up with his friend and some of the exchanges are really interesting. There’s a reason some press conference answers are clichés – they’ve been said a million times and they’re not wrong. There’s a reason guys like LeBron, Wade and Kobe use clichés – they’ve been there a million times. They want to win every game. Every game is important. Duh.

The best part comes when Anderson and Wade ask LeBron about all the shots he’s taking and gets him to answer honestly about having extra motivation playing against the MVP.

LeBron has scored the most points in NBA Finals history through three games, but to do that, he’s had to shoot 117 shots in three games. It’s an absurd number and LeBron knows it. (“Out of my character.”) Then Wade asks who had the better Finals – LeBron with 117 shots through three games or Wade when he took 139 shots in 6 games. Obviously, if the Cavs lose the series, LeBron won’t look back happily on all these shots. LeBron concedes Wade’s Finals are automatically better because the Heat won in 2006.

It’s also a quick reminder from Wade that he’s got that extra ring. And you kind of get the feeling that this isn’t the first time he’s brought it up without totally bringing it up. I hope we get a few more of these interviews before the series ends.
