Ned Yost is a Huge Dusty Rhodes Fan, Spent Yesterday Watching Old Videos

The Kansas City Royals had an off day yesterday, which was a good thing to allow Ned Yost to compose himself before this weekend’s Cardinals-Royals series. According to Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star, Yost is a big Dusty Rhodes fan from way back.
He used to tape pictures of Rhodes to his locker when coming up through the minors. Yost was drafted in 1974 and spent the next six years in the minor leagues, around the same time that Rhodes was making a name for himself on the wrestling circuit. Yost spent part of yesterday watching old Rhodes videos in between contemplating the meaning of the bunt.
Judging by the response to the news of Rhodes’ death, Yost wasn’t alone yesterday.
