Whether it’s Kris Bryant, Addison Russell, Carlos Correa, or Joey Gallo … It seems like “THE NEXT BIG THING” is making their major league debut like every week.

Well, Earth, get ready for Byron Buxton! MLB.com’s #1 rated prospect, who, per the Minnesota Twins’ Twitter account — will be starting the outfield today vs. the Texas Rangers.

The 21-year-old Buxton was the second overall selection in the 2012 MLB Draft, and in 263 minor league games: Buxton held a .296 average with 27 home runs, 150 RBIs, 92! stolen bases, and recorded 12 triples in 237 at-bats for Double-A Chattanooga.

Will he live up to the hype? Only time will tell…

If you’d like to watch some YouTube highlights of Byron set to the tune of obnoxiously loud punk rock music, you can do so here…
