The Best U.S. Open Groupings and Tee Times: Mickelson-Watson, Johnson-Scott-Garcia, Spieth-Day-Rose

The U.S. Open gets underway this week on FOX, the first time they’ve hosted a major tournament, and hopefully the opening groups will provide some excitement. Well, not hopefully, they will provide some excitement, but it looks like the USGA should be worried about the condition of the course because the picture below makes the greens look absolutely horrific.

Maybe Keegan wasn’t lying about the use of a steamroller in the video below.

Here are the odds for the U.S. Open for all players listed through 100/1 odds. Obviously McIlroy and Spieth lead the way, followed by Phil, DJ, Rose, Fowler, Day, Scott, and Watson. Tiger’s odds are at 55/1, steer clear unless you just feel like throwing down some money on a prayer.

It should be noted that Phil Mickelson just finished up the FedEx St. Jude Classic tied for third with a final round 65, so maybe Lefty is peaking at just the right time and can collect that career grand slam that’s evaded him six times. Lefty finished second in 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2013.
