Jason Day Suffered Dizzy Spell on 9th Fairway at U.S. Open
By Michael Shamburger
Jason Day, who was three-under, fell to the ground on the ninth fairway, the final hole of his second round at the U.S. Open. He was down for several minutes. The announcers originally guessed that Day turned an ankle, but it appears he is suffering from a spell of vertigo. Day has suffered from vertigo problems for a while now, and chose to get up and continue. Both of Day’s playing partners, Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose, allowed him to finish the hole before playing so that he could head in and seek medical attention. He finished his round at two-under.
Greg Norman was able to speak with Day as he was being ushered into a medical van, Day told him he was suffering from a spell of vertigo and that he would be ok.
