Kelly Oubre Traded to Washington, Let's Dream About Kevin Durant

Kelly Oubre was drafted 15th overall by the Atlanta Hawks, and he was immediately traded to Washington for the 19th pick and two future 2nd round picks.

Here’s my guess why the Wizards did that: Come 2016, if the Wizards are able to land Kevin Durant in free agency, the potential in Washington might be the best in franchise history. Especially when they go small to close out games:

C – Marcin Gortat
PF – Kevin Durant
SF – Kelly Oubre
SG – Bradley Beal
PG – John Wall

Wall breaking down defenses, Oubre, Durant and Beal spotting up? I’m not close to being sold on Oubre, who was up-and-down in Kansas, but it could have been a Bill Self issue more than anything. He’s an extremely lethal shooter, and can be good defensively, but he needs work on his body and attitude. As Fran Franschilla said on my radio show last week, he might spend parts of next season in the D-League.

The question is … can they secure Kevin Durant? You’ve got 12 months to lay the foundation, make it happen, Wizards.
