Joey Gallo Headed Back to Minors, Still Dating Chargers Cheerleader

Joey Gallo is headed back to the minors. The Texas Rangers’ prospect – and Bryce Harper’s Little League teammate – cooled down quite a bit after homering in his MLB debut. He’s hitting .190 with 39 strikeouts in his last 89 plate appearances. So he’s going back to AAA to learn how to hit a baseball better. One thing that he won’t have to worry about is improving his WAG.

Gallo is dating Shelbi Buchholz, a San Diego Chargers cheerleader. Shelbi Alyssa is a dancer, a model, and 2015 Miss Greater San Diego. Busted Coverage noticed the couple last month, but we decided to save this news for the dog days of summer. She’s also a scholar. From her Chargers bio:

"Shelbi is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism at Orange Coast College. In her free time she teaches hip-hop and models for dance magazines and the Los Angeles Fashion Design Center."
