Roy Halladay Was Pulled Over Twice In One Day for Speeding, Tweeted About It
By Mike Cardillo
Roy Halladay took to social media Tuesday afternoon to document getting pulled over by a police office for doing 58 mph in a 45 zone. Not a bad way to use social media, right?
Maybe someone in law enforcement saw the original tweet posted around 1:40 p.m. Eastern, since about three hours later he was pulled over again, which prompted another tweet.
Halladay retired in 2013. He’ll be an interesting Hall of Fame case considering he won the Cy Young Award in both leagues and threw a no-hitter in the postseason. His lifetime ERA of 3.38 would probably look a lot better if not for his last two seasons in Philly where he allowed 125 earned runs in 218 innings. Oh right, his 2000 season was a disaster, where he finished with 10.74 ERA in 68 innings — one of the worst all time.
Halladay is a close case, especially with voters less impressed by durability and 200+ innings pitched in a season. From a stat standpoint one interesting note about Halladay is his lifetime ERA and 3.39 Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) are basically the same.
Anyways, if voters take social media use into consideration it can only help Halladay.
