DeAndre Jordan Speculation Sparks Furious NBA Emoji Battle

DeAndre Jordan is reportedly experiencing cold feet about his proposed free agent signing with the Dallas Mavericks. The Clippers are in hot pursuit, trying to get him to change his mind. Doc Rivers, Steve Ballmer and Mark Cuban are all rushing to meet with him (per social media) in Texas today before he leaves the country for vacation. For a slow day in July, it’s a good sports story to follow.

In turn, Chandler Parsons — Jordan’s would-be teammate — and J.J. Redick, Jordan’s maybe ex-teammate are engaging in some sort of emoji battle on Twitter(*).

Who emoji’d better? Maybe we need Mike Francesa to judge, although Parsons’ tweet has been retweeted more than Redick’s. .

Blake Griffin added to the mix.

Chris Paul then chimed in, referencing the photo that circulated yesterday of him riding a banana boat.

Before the day is out let’s hope someone famous tweets out the rarely used monorail emoji. Stay tuned.
