LeBron James Staying Home in Cleveland, Signs New Two-Year Deal With the Cavaliers

LeBron James is staying home. For some reason, LeBron didn’t write an op-ed in the Players Tribune to announce his latest decision, a 2-year deal (presumably with another player option next summer) with the Cavaliers. Of course, you should take this report with a grain of salt considering the reporter cited in the SportsCenter tweet.

While LeBron taking another short-term max deal is no surprise – he has to keep his options open for the new, higher salary cap on the horizon – what is interesting is that Tristan Thompson’s deal is not yet finalized. It was previously reported that he would wait to make sure the Cavs took care of Thompson before he re-signed. I guess that’s the  value of Mo Williams.
