Dez Bryant has yet to sign his franchise tender with the Cowboys, and the deadline for reaching a long-term deal is this Wednesday.

[UPDATE: This tweet puts all the speculation to rest.

Your move, Jerry.]

ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Bryant has informed the team’s COO Stephen Jones that if the impasse is not resolved before the deadline that he’ll hold out:

Stephen Jones denies hearing this from the receiver.

Bryant would make about $12.8 million this season under the franchise tender. This translates to about $750k per week that he’d be giving up if he actually held out for regular season games, so it seems like sitting those out would be an idle threat. However, if the team wants him in camp, it’s advisable to get something done because he could sign the tender on the eve of the regular season and be entitled to the same amount of money.
