Former NFL Receiver JaJuan Dawson Missing After Fall From Boat [UPDATE]

JaJuan Dawson, a former NFL wide receiver with the Browns and Texan, was reported missing on Sunday after falling overboard from a boat into a lake north of Dallas on Sunday. Rescue teams searched Lavon Lake on Sunday and resumed the search on Monday. Per NBCDFW.com he wasn’t wearing a life preserver. The Houston Chronicle reports it’s unclear whether Dawson jumped or fell into the water.

Dawson played at Tulane and was drafted in the third round of the 2000 draft by the Browns. He last played in the NFL in 2002, finishing his career with 52 receptions.

UPDATE — Tuesday morning the Associated Press reports that divers located a body at the lake late Monday night. Officials believe it to be Dawson, who reportedly fell off an inflatable tube that had been dragging by a boat.
