Lennox Lewis sat down for an interview with Michael Landsberg on TSN’s Off the Record on Tuesday. The conversation was pretty candid, and topics ranged from the amount of times Lewis sued Don King — four, all successful — to what he said that inspired Mike Tyson to bite him.

Around the 9:30-mark, Landsberg asked if the rumor that WWE offered him five million pounds (note: the link I found says dollars, either way it’s a lot of money) to fight Brock Lesnar in 2002 was true. Lennox Lewis said it was, that he considered it very seriously, and that he only turned it down when he found out that he would have gloves on but Lesnar would not. (Another note: In my estimation, this seems like an odd handicap, even for pro wrestling, and more likely just means he wasn’t willing to lose the match.)

As far as I can tell, Lewis had never confirmed this offer before. If it had come to fruition, it would’ve been one helluva compelling WWE storyline.
