Video: Omar Infante and Alcides Escobar Combined for Your Web Gem of the Week
By Jason Lisk
The Kansas City Royals have been the best defensive team in baseball, and it’s a big factor in their 61-38 record to lead the American League. In a tight 2-1 game against Cleveland, they turned in this 4-6-3 putout in the 9th inning, when Omar Infante flipped the ball instinctually in one fielding motion with his glove to Alcides Escobar, and Escobar grabbed it bare-handed and fired to first for the putout.
That is amazing, and your top web gem of the night, and the week. Gonna be tough to top that level of synchronization, or dare we say, complexity.
