Brandon Boykin Says Chip Kelly "is uncomfortable around grown men of our culture"
Brandon Boykin was traded from the Eagles to the Steelers on Saturday. While Boykin isn’t the first player to be traded on the eve of training camp, he was traded by Chip Kelly which means it’s time to wonder aloud if the move was racially motivated. Via CSN Philly:
"In a text message to Comcast SportsNet’s Derrick Gunn, Boykin said Kelly is “uncomfortable around grown men of our culture.” “He can’t relate and that makes him uncomfortable,” Boykin added in the text message. “He likes total control of everything, and he don’t like to be uncomfortable. Players excel when you let them naturally be who they are, and in my experience that hasn’t been important to him, but you guys have heard this before me.”"
It seems this will be Chip Kelly’s legacy. Whenever a non-white player leaves the team, there will be rumblings about the motives behind Kelly’s roster management. No matter what the actual numbers seem to say.
