Rich Rodriguez Not Trusting His Mortgage With Some Kid Who Watches SpongeBob SquarePants

Rich Rodriguez is about to start his 4th season at Arizona. That’s one more season than he lasted at Michigan and by October he should have twice as many wins with the Wildcats as he did in total with the Wolverines. Pac-12 Media Day was last week and I’m just now seeing RichRod’s quotes. Turns out he has a pretty good litmus test for whether or not he should trust you with his mortgage. Via The Oregonian:

"I’ve got a pretty big mortgage payment, I don’t want to let a kid that watches SpongeBob SquarePants on Saturday mornings calling the plays. Are you kidding me? Nothing against SpongeBob SquarePants, but he doesn’t have the time to watch the film that I do."

Presumably this is a new policy for Rich because everyone knows that Michigan Men watch SpongeBob. But that’s not RichRod’s only pop culture reference. Here he is on losses:

"“Did you see the movie Lion King? There is a point in the movie where the monkey hits the lion over the head. He said, what did do you that for? And the monkey says it, doesn’t matter. It’s in the past.”"

Really makes you think.
