Mets Lefty Jerry Blevins Slipped on Curb, Breaks Arm Again

Mets reliever Jerry Blevins appears to have added his name to the dishonor roll of stupid-sounding injuries suffered by professional athletes. Blevins hadn’t pitched since April 19 after being hit on the forearm with a comebacker. Reports early this week suggested the lefty was ready to start throwing again and that he might be able to return before the season ends.

Even when they’re riding high on a six-game winning streak a pitcher slips on a curb and breaks the same arm he’d already broken. You can’t make it up sometimes.
