San Antonio Would Let Raiders Crash On Couch While L.A. Stadium Is Built

The Oakland Raiders appear to be en route to Los Angeles. The rub is the Raiders’ one-year lease extension in Oakland expires after this season. A proposed joint stadium with the Chargers in Los Angeles would not be ready for play until 2019.
Scorned for a permanent relationship, San Antonio’s mayor says the city still would be willing to host the Raiders in the Alamodome on an interim basis while the new stadium is built. San Antonio has been after the Raiders for a while. It may be time for Houston or Dallas to sit San Antonio down and have the “he’s just not that into you” discussion.
But, with potentially three NFL teams legit moving to Los Angeles. San Antonio could be in the running to be the “give us all the public subsidies for our new stadium or we’re moving here” city for the next couple decades.
