Jason Day Wins the 2015 PGA Championship
By Michael Shamburger
In the history of major tournament golf, no one has ever finished better than -19, not even Tiger Woods.
Jason Day finished -20 at the 97th edition of the PGA Championship. You read that right, on a course that is not very easy and against a field that includes some unbelievably talented players, Day shot TWENTY-UNDER! It’s the first time in 156 years that someone has finished at -20 in a major tournament.
Day held off a field that included major champions Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose, along with talented guys Branden Grace, Brooks Koepka, and Anirban Lahiri on his way to his first major championship victory. It’s been a long time coming for Day, who has finished in the top five at major tournaments four times, including two second place finishes at the U.S. Open. He most recently finished tied for fourth at The Open Championship.
Hopefully we get to see something like it again.
How did I do with my picks? You tell me.
My picks: Spieth-2nd, Day-W, Watson-T21, Mickelson-T18, Rose-T3.
Full review and thoughts coming tomorrow. For now, all you need to know is that golf wins again.
