Brock Lesnar did Mike and Mike (Cris Carter and Jorge Sedano were filling in) and SportsCenter this morning. On the latter, he was asked about Dana White’s comments about the inherent fakeness of professional wrestling. Cageside Seats transcribed:

Lesnar’s got solid points here. He’s right that McMahon benefits from the luxuries of staged storytelling, and that McMahon’s better right now at selling the product to the mainstream public. This morning illustrates that. A decade ago, it would’ve been unheard of for WWE to be prominently featured on SportsCenter (unless there was an investigative piece on the early deaths of pro wrestlers).

This is not to say that Dana White’s fighters are never featured, but SportsCenter will be on-set from SummerSlam on Sunday, and ESPN will be promoting the event almost as a co-contributor all week. Has UFC ever co-opted the Mothership to this extent?
