The Packers await MRI results to confirm their reported initial diagnosis on Jordy Nelson, which is a torn ACL and likely missed season. Consequently, veterans in their locker room were pretty upset about losing one of their best players in a meaningless game. ESPN Wisconsin’s Jason Wilde passed along word from Aaron Rodgers:

The solution, in my opinion, is for teams to just sit their 25 best players in these games. The league is never going to cut them out when fans pay full price for tickets and tune in, so coaches should take matters into their own hands. That would effect a change to the system far sooner than this rash of injuries will do.
