Bill Simmons Making Long-Awaited Return to Podcasting on October 1st
Bill Simmons back. Almost. Simmons has announced that he will return to the world of podcasting on October 1st with new branding and new sponsors. (Tough couple months for Subway.) That means The B.S. Report and Bill Don’t Lie are dead forever. Hopefully, the new podcast home allows for many more verticals.
Where will that be? Could it be Adam Carolla’s “digital network?” Something completely separate from HBO? Will we finally find out if the Entourage movie passed the VCR test? So many questions! You’ll just have to wait 38 days to find out. Take that time to prepare yourself for some truly free-flowing conversations that occasionally touch on mature subjects.
UPDATE: According to the original Hollywood Reporter story on the deal:
"As part of the multiyear, multiplatform pact, which begins in October, Simmons will also have a production deal to produce content for the network and its digital platforms, delivering video, podcasts and features as he did at ESPN."
It’s not podcasting, it’s HBO.
