The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the signing of veteran quarterback Michael Vick. With Bruce Gradkowski facing potentially season-ending shoulder surgery, the team decided to take a chance on the 35-year-old lefty. Gradkowski was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Coach Mike Tomlin seems to think Vick still has something left in the tank.

"“There’s not a throw on the field he can’t make from an arm-strength-standpoint, he’s a very experienced guy at what he does at this point in his career. And obviously the mobility is still unique even at 35.”"

Vick completed less than 53 percent of his passes with the New York Jets last season and finished with a lackluster 68.3 quarterback rating. One of the few bright spots, however, was an impressive performance in a 20-13 victory over the Steelers in November.

Less excited about the signing? Judging by their statement … PETA.

"“As long as he’s throwing a football and not electrocuting a dog, PETA is pleased he is focused on his game.”"
