Jason Day Appears to Further Aggravate Back Injury During First Round of The Barclays
By Michael Shamburger
Jason Day is coming off of his first major tournament win at the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, and there’s plenty of excitement and buzz around the 27-year-old Aussie star. On Wednesday, Day withdrew from the pro-am before The Barclays saying that he strained his back on Tuesday night lifting an item from the bottom of a motor coach. During the first round on Thursday, Day appeared to further aggravate the injury on the 12th hole.
Day then hooked one off the tee on the par-5 16th and appeared to be in pain again.
Day is currently one-under and is continuing his round, but is obviously bothered by the injury.
