Kobe Bryant Says He Wishes He Didn't Fight With Shaq Through the Press

Kobe is a guest on the next episode of Shaq’s podcast, which will run on Monday. ESPN LA’s Mason and Ireland played a preview snippet of it earlier this week where Shaq’s co-host John Kincade asked the former teammates if they would take back their previous feud.

As Lakers Nation transcribed, Shaq said he wishes he never asked to be traded, and that the clip played on the podcast of him saying that had come from the “heat of the moment.” If Kobe could do it over, he would have liked the feud not to play out in the press:

If you recall, perhaps the most prominent aspect of Shaq and Kobe’s beef came during Kobe’s 2003 rape case in Colorado, when he reportedly told law enforcement that he should have emulated Shaq, who “would pay his women not to say anything.” Over the years, Shaq battled through diss tracks, including dropping the unforgettable line, “Tell me how my ass tastes.”

After going through all that, it really does say something about the pair’s maturity that they’ve apparently been able to squash it.
