Phil Mickelson Hit a Backwards Shot at The Barclays, is a Short-Game Wizard
By Michael Shamburger
Phil Mickelson is a short-game wizard. He always seems to be able to get the ball close from the toughest lies around the greens, even when in a bunker. On Saturday on the par-4 18th hole at The Barclays, Phil did that thing where he hits it backwards over his head again, but didn’t get it quite as far as he’d hoped leaving himself another shot from the bunker, which he placed perfectly within a few feet of the hole and he settled for a par.
He’s also hit from a hospitality tent, like we saw Matt Jones do this year at the PGA Championship while leading.
And here’s Phil hitting from a cart path at the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship.
