The Cleveland Browns moved quickly, suspending assistant coach Andy Moeller indefinitely when word started emerging of an incident. ESPN reported that the alleged victim was a guest in his home, from Maryland, and not a spouse or live-in girlfriend.

According to TMZ, who obtained the audio of the 911 call, the woman claimed to be his fiancee, coming in frequently to visit from Maryland. On the 911 call, she says that he tried “to strangle me and beat me up.”

“I hate to do this to him, but I’m glad I made it out of there in time,” she told the operator.

When asked the cause of the incident, she said she didn’t know, then said “I was on the phone talking to my son, and he told me to be quiet.”

When asked if he had ever been violent before, she responded in the affirmative.
