Many NFL front offices spend the summer worrying star players will injure themselves participating in dangerous non-football activities. From Terrell Suggs blowing out his Achilles playing basketball to Jason Pierre-Paul losing a digit while playing with fireworks, the offseason is seemingly chock-full of potential calamity. With millions of dollars and on-field success at stake, it’s easy to understand why management wonks get nervous.

But a rich and fulfilling life is not one lived in the shady comfort of the sidelines. To truly experience existence, a man must roll up his sleeves and seize the day. Or, in Drew Brees’ case, the crocodile.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback was on last night’s episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, performing survival tasks that challenged the mind, body and soul. Among them was the wrestling of crocodile with his bare hands before stabbing it. Brees was not harmed in the incident. The same cannot be said for the crocodile, which became dinner.

" Here’s a preview of Running Wild w Bear Grylls. Airs tonight at 9 pm cst on NBC http://t.co/9MoJ2p3qlA — Drew Brees (@drewbrees) September 7, 2015 "

Brees also jumped into a river and rode a helicopter on the episode. Some of the suspense was neutralized because we’ve seen him since the filming and he’s very much alive.

Grylls needs to get Mike Leach out in the jungle and fast. The internet demands it and, hey, the Washington State coach could soon have plenty of free time on his hands.
