Mike Francesa and Fox Are Officially Getting a Divorce, MSG Next?

This Friday will be Mike Francesa's last show on FOX. He will announce it tomorrow at 3pm ET.

Mike Francesa has confirmed that his last show on Fox will be on Friday, as friend of the program (whose real name I don’t know) Sports Radio Mongo broke last night. Speculation started to sizzle when Neil Best, who’s as connected with all things Francesa as anyone, dropped these bread crumbs on Tuesday afternoon.

Francesa continues summer pattern of NOT bashing Fox re simulcast at top of show. Hmm. Might be time for amicable divorce and move to MSG.

This was always a matter of when and not if. This wasn’t just the case when Colin Cowherd left ESPN for Fox — it was apparent the marriage was an unhappy one as soon as Fox opted to regularly preempt the Pope with higher rated soccer programming. Though nothing is official, most (including Best) have been presuming that Francesa is headed to MSG, which is a win for his New York base but a loss for Mongos like me who live elsewhere in the country.
