If you’d like to get an idea of what life is like being Tom Brady’s right hand man, you must read this story on Boston.com about a fellow named Ben Rawitz.

In the span of a few years, Rawitz went from being a low-level Patriots intern – “my second day, I dressed up as the Patriots’ mascot and went to one of Mr. Kraft’s friend’s houses for a birthday party” – to being the guy you need to talk to if you want to get to Tom Brady.

Part of the job? Giving Tom and Gisele’s kids a bath when necessary.

"Rawitz lived on Brady’s schedule. They woke up at the same time, drank protein shakes together, worked out together, and ate meals together. In those early years on the job, Rawitz researched the perfect baby crib, planned children’s birthday parties, walked the family’s dog, and bought groceries. A day that began with a meeting about an endorsement deal might well end by giving Brady’s children a bath."

The job feels like part nanny, part butler, part assistant, part gopher. Throughout the piece, you’ll read sentences about how the key to the job is thinking like Tom and Gisele. In order to know what they want, and to keep them happy, you have to know them intimately.

The piece is extremely glowing when it comes to Brady andGisele – hey, life is good when you’re worth hundreds of millions of dollars! – and there’s nary a mention of any meltdowns from the famous people who are quoted throughout. It’s unclear what Rawitz makes in his job, and the author doesn’t even offer a ballpark.

Also, Tom Brady is philosophical.

"“Tom says this a lot: ‘If all you ever do is all you’ve ever done, then all you’ll ever get is all you’ve ever got,’” McDonough said. “I wasn’t necessarily aspiring to be Tom Brady’s manager for the rest of my life. And I don’t think Ben is.”"
