Meadville (PA) beat DuBois 107-90 on Friday night in a high school football game. The game featured a running back, Journey Brown of Meadville, who ran for a state record 722 yards and 10 TDs on 30 carries. The DuBois quarterback, Matt Miller, is a sophomore who was making his first career start, and he threw for 741 yards (another state record) and 10 touchdown passes. Whoever Miller replaced as the starter just got Willy Pipp’d.

The Meadville coach had this to say after the game, “What you had was two very good offenses teeing up on each other. But neither team brought their defense.”

Understatement of the year. Still, there is no doubt someone out there criticizing DuBois for throwing the ball too much. Way to go, stat sheet stuffer! Oh, you are 0-1 as a starting quarterback? Good job.
